Slayers 2 All Breathing Trainer Locations
Find every level 25 Breathing Style trainer, what they ask for, and where to farm Demon Horns and Beast Cores.
Breathing Styles are the core human combat identity in Slayers 2. Every style is taught by a world trainer at level 25, and every trainer sits behind a short travel puzzle plus a material check. This page lists all eight trainers with route notes and reported costs. Read the trainer’s live dialogue before you finish a long farm — launch patches have already produced cost conflicts between early-access videos and post-launch runs.
Shared rules before you hike
- Reach level 25 first. Trainers ignore underleveled players.
- Unlock Wall Climb (and ideally Double Jump) from the skill tree. Several routes are cliffs, roofs, or multi-stage climbs. See Controls if CTRL climb still feels awkward.
- Finish Lost Pages & Book of Guidance so the map can orient you toward Mistfall, Bamboo Grove, and the bear landmarks.
- Pick the style first, then farm its exact list. A bag of “generic horns” is useless if your trainer wants cores, Wen, or a weapon gate instead.
- After unlock, compare kits on the Tier List Hub and keep leveling toward Final Selection if you are on the Slayer path.
Cost conflict warning
Some full-map videos claim a flat package (for example level 25, thousands of Wen, 30 Demon Horns, and 5 Beast Cores for every style). Per-trainer guides disagree and list unique prices — memorize this launch-week shopping list before you farm:
- Flame (Rengu): about 10 Demon Horns
- Water (Urokodaki): about 5,000 Wen + 30 Demon Horns
- Wind (Saneri): about 50 Demon Horns
- Serpent (Obari): about 20 Demon Horns + 5 Beast Cores
- Stone (Gyorei): needs Axe + Mace unlocked (weapon-class gate; horn counts secondary)
- Insect (Shinora): materials still TBA in many written roundups — read dialogue
- Thunder / Sound: horns vary by source; confirm on interact
Believe the NPC dialogue in your server. Use the numbers below as planning estimates from public launch-week routes, not as a patch-proof contract.
Ice / Ember Heart gate (Sound and Wind)
Sound (Tengai) and Wind (Saneri) both sit on snow or ice approaches. Cold damage-over-time in those biomes punishes long climbs and hand-ins if you lack cold immunity. Mid-game accounts usually unlock the Ember Heart Lantern from the Yeti Boss (spawned with a Frozen Heart) before they treat Iceveil / snow trainer trips as farmable. You can scout briefly without it, but do not plan a 50-horn Wind turn-in or a multi-climb Sound route while the cold meter deletes you. Charge the lantern at campfires once you have it.
Flame Breathing — Trainer Rengu
Where: From Mistfall routes, cross toward the long red bridge / yellow map band and look for the house near the cliff with cherry blossom / Rengu boss energy nearby. Rengu often stands on the roof or upper deck — ground-level players run past him constantly.
Reported ask: Level 25; about 10 Demon Horns (confirm in dialogue). Bring a sword for the trainee fight at the end of his trials.
Notes: One of the cleaner offensive starters. Good if you want a short material grind and a direct play pattern.
Water Breathing — Trainer Urokodaki
Where: Bamboo Grove water route — look for the underwater passage near the island house. You will swim a cave line rather than climb a peak.
Reported ask: Level 25; about 5,000 Wen and 30 Demon Horns.
Notes: Frequently recommended for beginners because the toolkit is flexible. Budget Wen before you finish the horn farm so you are not stuck one currency short at the hand-in.
Thunder Breathing — Trainer Zentaro / Gramps
Where: From the bear village landmark, take the mountain climb behind or above the bear spawns. Wall Climb is effectively required. Community videos label the NPC as Zentaro, Gramps, or similar elder names — match the Thunder dialogue on the peak.
Reported ask: Level 25; materials vary by source (often horns; some flat-list videos fold Thunder into the 30-horn package). Confirm on interact.
Notes: Strong for players who like fast approaches. Do not attempt the mountain without climb stamina management.
Wind Breathing — Trainer Saneri
Where: Snowy biome approach from the bear area. Saneri is often described on a platform in or beside water inside the cold region.
Reported ask: Level 25; about 50 Demon Horns in early-access planning notes — higher than Flame, so plan a longer night farm.
Notes: Mobility-heavy kit. Bring patience for the horn count and warm-up fights in the snow before you commit the turn-in. Treat the approach as an Ember Heart cold gate — see the ice note above and the Yeti Boss guide if snow DoT keeps interrupting the hike.
Stone Breathing — Trainer Gyorei
Where: Lower path from the bear area / waterfall-ridge lines toward a temple-like approach. You usually do not need the same full mountain climb as Thunder.
Reported ask: Level 25 plus a weapon-class gate: Axe and Mace unlocked (often tied to the stone trainee / mason drops nearby). Materials otherwise TBA or folded into generic lists.
Notes: Do not farm horns for Stone until you confirm the axe/mace requirement is satisfied. It is the easy style to soft-lock by bringing the wrong inventory.
Insect Breathing — Trainer Shinora
Where: Butterfly Mansion / Butterfly Estate roof. From Mistfall Harbor or the beginner-village east route, reach the estate and climb onto the main building near the wisteria tree.
Reported ask: Level 25; exact materials still listed as TBA in several written roundups — read Shinora’s dialogue.
Notes: Roof checks matter. If the courtyard looks empty, look up.
Sound Breathing — Trainer Tengai
Where: Snowy Iceveil-style valley. Expect gates, stacked wall climbs, and a dark cliff line above the ocean or deep snow. Stamina for multiple climbs matters as much as combat.
Reported ask: Level 25; Demon Horns (one transcribed run cites about ten — verify). Wall Climb required.
Notes: High mechanical ceiling in many tier conversations. Unlock climb and pack healing before the hike. Like Wind, Sound’s valley is a cold-gated route — bring Ember Heart Lantern uptime from the Yeti Boss loop rather than racing the DoT on every ledge.
Serpent Breathing — Trainer Obari
Where: Cliff north / above Windy Peak spawn, on the mountain face overlooking the starter side. From the Mother Bear area, climb the mountain on the starter-zone side until Obari’s ledge appears.
Reported ask: Level 25; about 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores.
Notes: Closest trainer to spawn once you can climb, but the dual material gate is stricter than Flame’s horn-only ask.
Farming Demon Horns and Beast Cores
Horns drop from demons, especially at night, in caves and open wilderness. The most repeated early farm is the cave under / behind the Mother Bear near Tom’s quest area — the same landmark you meet during Getting Started. Bamboo Grove waterfall caves are another frequent horn route. Beast Cores come from Beast Born demons in their village north of early routes; farm cores only if your trainer (notably Serpent) actually demands them.
Server population and night cycle affect spawn density. If a cave is contested, finish a clear, loot, and hop rather than AFK waiting. Always leave inventory space — turning in at the trainer with a full bag is a painful way to fail a 30-minute farm.
After you unlock a style
Clear the trainer’s minigame trials and the trainee fight, then learn your forms on bandits or bears before harder content. If you are aiming at the Corps, start routing Mistfall → Butterfly → Final Selection Plains using Final Selection. If you prefer the night path instead, keep the style for leveling but read the Demon conversion guide when reputation farming begins. For relative strength discussions, open the Tier List Hub rather than treating any single YouTube “best style” claim as patch law.
Quick reference table
| Style | Trainer | Landmark | Prep highlight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flame | Rengu | Mistfall red bridge house / roof | ~10 Demon Horns |
| Water | Urokodaki | Bamboo Grove underwater route | ~5,000 Wen + 30 horns |
| Thunder | Zentaro / Gramps | Mountain above bears | Wall Climb |
| Wind | Saneri | Snow biome water platform | ~50 Demon Horns; Ember Heart / ice gate |
| Stone | Gyorei | Lower path from bears / temple | Axe + Mace gate |
| Insect | Shinora | Butterfly Mansion roof | Materials TBA — read dialogue |
| Sound | Tengai | Iceveil snow climbs | Horns vary; Ember Heart / ice gate |
| Serpent | Obari | Cliff above Windy Peak | 20 horns + 5 Beast Cores |
Re-confirm every row in-game before you vendor your Wen or burn a night of farming. Flame stays the cheapest horn ask (~10); Water uniquely stacks Wen + horns; Wind’s ~50 horns and Serpent’s dual mat gate are the long farms; Stone fails without axe and mace; Insect stays TBA until Shinora says otherwise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What level do I need for Breathing trainers in Slayers 2?
Level 25. Bring the trainer’s materials and expect a short trial chain plus a trainee fight after the hand-in.
Do I need Wall Climb for every trainer?
Not every route, but Thunder, Sound, Serpent, Insect roofs, and several shortcuts expect climb. Unlock Wall Climb during the early skill-tree pass.
Where should I farm Demon Horns?
At night, in demon caves and open spawns. The Mother Bear cave and Bamboo Grove waterfall caves are the most cited early farms.
Why do material costs disagree between guides?
Early-access and launch-week sources conflict. Some list a flat horn/core package for all styles; others give per-trainer prices. Always trust the NPC dialogue on your account.
Which Breathing Style should I unlock first?
Water and Flame are common first picks for toolkit flexibility versus simple offense. Check the Tier List Hub, then pick the trainer whose materials you can finish fastest.
